ROAD SAFETY • HEALTH AWARENESS • DIGITAL CONFIDENCE
About Us
Adelaide Senior Road & Health Association Incorporated is a South Australian incorporated community and not-for-profit association supporting older people, families and carers through road-safety education, health and driving awareness, digital confidence and accessible community information.
We support local English-speaking communities, Chinese-speaking communities and other culturally and linguistically diverse communities. Our approach is centred on safety, confidence, dignity, independence and participation in community life.
Who we are
The Association was incorporated in South Australia on 3 July 2025 to provide practical community education for older people.

Why the Association exists
Older people increasingly need to manage road safety, health considerations and digital government services together. Some older migrants and people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities may also face unfamiliar South Australian licensing processes, language barriers, limited digital confidence, difficulty using email and verification codes, uncertainty about where to find reliable information, or concern about losing independence or being judged.
The Association aims to make these subjects easier to understand without fear, pressure or embarrassment. Ageing does not automatically make a person unsafe to drive; individual circumstances, health, skills and the relevant official requirements matter.
Our three pillars
ROAD — Road safety and safer mobility
- senior road-safety education
- South Australian road-rule awareness
- overseas-licence and myLs information
- common driving hazards
- safer-driving strategies
- confidence, mobility and independence
- respectful support for families and carers
Community education is supportive and informational; it is not a compulsory driving assessment.
HEALTH — Health and driving awareness
- general awareness of mobility, vision, fatigue and wellbeing
- understanding how health changes may affect driving
- fitness-to-drive awareness
- encouragement to seek advice from a GP, specialist, physiotherapist or other appropriately qualified professional when necessary
A physiotherapist-and-driver wellness seminar remains a developing program concept. It is not a current clinical service, confirmed professional partnership, medical assessment or treatment program.
DIGITAL — Digital confidence
- smartphones and tablets
- personal email and verification codes
- mySAGOV, myLs and relevant government services
- online safety and scam awareness
- practical help understanding digital processes
The Association’s 2025–26 digital-inclusion work has been supported through Good Things Foundation / Be Connected.
How we work
- begin with accessible community education
- allow people to ask questions without judgement
- provide clear, practical and culturally appropriate information
- offer optional individual information or practical support where capacity permits
- refer people to relevant government, health or professional services when appropriate
Each event announcement will identify the available language or languages, eligibility, venue, capacity and cost. Not every activity will be bilingual or immediately available.
Who we support
- older South Australians
- older drivers considering how to remain safe and mobile
- families and carers
- English-speaking communities
- Chinese-speaking communities
- other culturally and linguistically diverse communities
- councils, libraries and community organisations seeking accessible education
Listing these groups does not imply that any particular council, library, healthcare service or multicultural organisation is a confirmed partner.
Governance and independence
The Association is governed by a committee under its approved Rules. Its activities are directed toward community benefit, and it may work with volunteers, community organisations and qualified professionals when suitable arrangements are confirmed.
Adelaide Senior Road & Health Association Incorporated is separate from Happy Driving School. Happy Driving School is a separate commercial driving-school business. Driving lessons sold by Happy Driving School are not Association programs.
